Terms of service
Last updated: July 20, 2026
These terms govern your use of Latenz — the web app, the host agent, the native viewers and the platform behind them (the "Service"). The Service is operated by Ilaria Zanotto, a sole proprietor established in Italy (PEC: [email protected]) ("we", "us"). By creating an account or installing the host agent you agree to them.
1. The service
Latenz lets you stream the desktop of machines you control to viewers over WebRTC. The cloud platform provides authentication, host registry, connection signaling and an optional relay; the media itself flows peer-to-peer as described on the security page.
2. Your machines, your authorization
You may only enroll hosts, and connect to hosts, that you own or are explicitly authorized to access. Sharing a guest link grants the recipient real access to a real machine — view-only or, in co-op mode, full input control. You are responsible for what you share, with whom, and for revoking links you no longer want live. Using the Service to access a machine without its owner's permission is prohibited and grounds for immediate termination, in addition to being illegal in most jurisdictions.
3. Accounts
You need an account (via Firebase Authentication) to enroll hosts. Keep your credentials and host enrollment keys secret; actions taken through your account or your guest links are attributed to you. You must be at least 16 to use the Service.
4. Plans, billing and refunds
- There are three plans — Free, Pro and Team — described on the pricing page. Plan limits (resolution, monitors, concurrent sessions, relay bandwidth) are enforced by the Service and may evolve — we won't materially reduce a paid plan mid-cycle.
- Free is for personal use only.Using the Service for work — your job, your freelance clients, a business, an employer, a public body or any other organization — requires a Pro or Team subscription, whichever features you use. Pro covers one individual; Team is licensed per seat, one seat per person who connects to your organization's hosts.
- Paid subscriptions and credit packs are sold by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle handles payment, tax/VAT and invoicing — including business invoices and VAT numbers for Pro and Team; your checkout contract is with Paddle.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month until canceled. Cancel any time from the billing page; access continues to the end of the paid period. Relay credit packs are one-time purchases that never expire.
- Refunds: if the Service didn't work for you, email [email protected]within 14 days of a purchase and we'll refund it — first subscription payment or unused credit packs alike. Renewals and allowances already consumed are generally not refundable. EU consumers additionally keep their statutory withdrawal rights via Paddle.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- access machines or accounts you are not authorized to access;
- use a Free account for commercial or organizational purposes, or share one Pro subscription across several people;
- resell relay bandwidth or use the relay as a generic proxy/VPN for non-Latenz traffic;
- probe, overload or disrupt the platform, or bypass plan limits and server-side gates;
- use the Service to violate any law, including surveillance of others.
6. Software
The host agent and viewers are licensed to you, non-exclusively, for use with the Service and within the scope of your plan: a Free licence covers personal use, a Pro or Team licence covers commercial use as described in §4. Don't reverse-engineer them except where law permits. You can update the agent to the latest published version from the dashboard.
7. Availability and warranty
The Service is provided "as is". We work to keep it up, but we do not warrant uninterrupted availability — sessions depend on your network, your hardware and paths outside our control. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability to you is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or EU consumers' statutory rights.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where practicable. Sections that by nature survive (liability, disputes) survive termination.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to conflict of law rules. The courts of Verona, Italy have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except where mandatory consumer-protection law entitles you, as an EU consumer, to bring proceedings in — and enjoy the protection of the law of — your country of residence. Nothing here affects those statutory rights.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced to active accounts by email with reasonable notice. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. Questions: [email protected]. Privacy is covered separately in the privacy policy.
